[Wed Mar 31 18:12:52 2004] : (1) The Creator: The scene around you is grim at best. Hundreds upon hundreds of Ogier lay dead or wounded on the wall that was solid and new not one day earlier. Just over a hundred other cower in the center of the giant forest clearing. Dozens sing out with little or no unity to their voice, just trying to overcome the haunting sounds coming from beyond the walls by the deadly Forest Reavers and their extremely powerful voices. Most of those Ogier still alive are pressed up against a grey wall towering up out of the groun at the center of the clearing and continuing over the heads of those inside. Meanwhile, hundreds of Ogrollocs barrel down on those in the center of the circle, using their huge size to make great long strides, covering miles distance extremely quickly. Their blood curdling screams get no better as they approach from all sides. Amongst those in the center, is you and your comrads. This battle can be over quickly if you can figure out what is needed to help the Keepers of Knowledge channel.

[Wed Mar 31 18:45:50 2004] : (1) The Creator: All at once, Krohs voice breaks through the Forest Reavers song, the power of his fellow treesingers and friends boosting him above and beyond the minor tones coming from outside of town. With that, two other strong voices join the chorus as the two Keepers of Knowledge add their song. Mardius and the Dedicated's eyes grow wide as they obviously see the Keepers of Knowledge channel. Every single Ogrolloc stops in his tracks, some collapsing in mid stride to come sliding to a halt, others slowing down before dropping to their knees with their huge hands to their ears. Every Ogrolloc screams, though something else also happens. At first, only a few start, but then more begin to shake violently, foaming at the mouth, thrashing around, before dying a bloody death. Many of the Ogier on the walls begin to stand up and look around wondering why their wounds have been healed so completely. You notice as well that your wounds have also been healed as Rotier stands looking no worse for wear. Before long, all the Ogrollocs are dead and as the song of the Keepers dies off with one final lasting note, no other sounds can be heard in the forest, not even that of the Forest Reavers outside of the wall.

Ariane is Rand's child by Berelain (the First of Mayene), who married rand after Tarmon Gaidon. Rand, devistated by the deaths and estrangements of many of his friends and lovers (Mat and Perrin stopped talking to Rand long before Tarmon Gaidon, and Elayne was killed by Aes Sedai insurgents [Bad dice format] - [read: black ajah, aided by some shadow-minions] after her coronation. Min went missing shortly after that and retreated into a wandering life, eventually helping Thom in his wanderings. Aviendha, disgusted by Rand's contant inattention yet still longing for him, decided to give up and help lead her people to a [Bad dice format] - [somewhat] sunny future. She also gave birth to a son of Rand's, but thats another story.)

The chaotic nature of this world is augmented by the fact that Rand lost leverage with other nations through his estrangements with his friends and the lack of Elayne, proboably the most competent stateswoman for a long time. As such, Ariane's world has descended into anarchy, with Rand and Berelain and a handful of other heads of states trying to patch things up. The biggest threat to this world, however, is a resurgence of Shadar Logoth's Evil.*

*This came about when a mining party, foolishly ignorant of the places legend, and afraid to find out because of the anarchy in the towns in Andor, sent an expidition into Shadar Logoth. Most died, but the leader and a few of his cohorts returned with logoth impregnated stuff. The band went evil, and wen about trying to topple all of civilization so that Shadar Logoth could once again be the center of the world. They have sucessfully managed to bring down the government of at least one nation (Far Madding), and have instigated unrest and violence through the use of stranded bands of Shadow-dudes (or whatever they are called).

Ariane, not to the suprise of Berelain, is a channeler. Berelain chose not to send her to Tar Valon, and this has suited Ariane just fine. Having a somewhat splintered childood travelling with her mother to all of her state visits, Ariane saw first hand the declining state of civilization. After her departure from home, Ariane set about traveling with two of her childhood friends, Am-Harik (a bastard child of a Shadow Aiel, and a very capable footpad) and Julen, a daughter of a Mayener guard, and a superior swordswoman. They set about trying to help the poor and deprived, starting out as adventurers for hire and eventually coming to pursue the band form Shadar Logoth. Coming to fully understand the extent of thier havok, they set about pursuing and trying to stop the band. Shortly before they were able to finnally confront the band, Padan Fain pulled a "were not in kansas" on Ariane and transported her to the "real" world, leaving her friends to straggle along and keep things together.

The Seanchan, under the rule of Matrim and the Daughter of the Nine Moons, coalecse into an egalitartian empire that uses its inherent order and heiarchy to succeed in numerous trade wars accross the world, becoming a competitor to the Seafolk in terms of freight ability and trade leverage. Mat, becoming estranged from Rand due to personal fallouts, decided that he could best help the chaotic lands to the east by trading with them. Consequently, Tarabon, Arad Doman and Kandor are now in hegemony with the Celestial Republic (read: Seanchan), and work to civilize the lands around them.

Manetheren, along with Mayene, are the two sole intact nations along with Malkier and Sheinar that are not in league with the Seanchan. Perrin and Faile also distanced themselves from Rand, working to promote the welfare of the people in Old Andor. They are passionate in thier leadership, and they are fair and just in thier guidance. Manetheren has ascended to be a center of hope in the world. Ariane is close with Perrin and Faile.
