Everyone always wants to know how far away some weave will be felt by a channeler of the same gender. Well I have asked around and with my own feelings, I have created (Yes with the help of others so its not all mine) a table to show how far away a weave can be felt. This also works for any creature with One Power Sense. The equation is 10 * 2^Level in feet.
Level | Distance |
th | 10 ft. |
st | 20 ft. |
nd | 40 ft. |
rd | 80 ft. |
th | 160 ft. |
th | 320 ft. |
th | 640 ft. |
th | 1/4 mile |
th | 1/2 mile |
th | 1 mile |
th | 2 miles |
th | 8 miles |
th | 32 miles |
th | 128 miles |
th | 512 miles |
th | 2048 miles |
th | 2097152 miles |
Some additional rules include sensing the one power beyond those distances. This requires a weavesight check of DC 10 + 1/20ft.
Another rule is stacking of the distances. If two channelers are within so much distance of one another (within the sensing distance), their sphere of sensing increases by the amount that it overlaps. In other words, if two channelers are standing exactly 10 ft. from one another both channeling one first level weave, then their spheres of sensing are extended by 10 ft. If, under the same conditions, the channelers are standing 15 ft. away from one another, the sphere for sensing is only increased by 5 ft. as the original spheres only overlap for 5 ft. No persons sphere can be increased more then the size of the sum of all spheres within his or her sensing range. (A channeler weaving a 4th level weave next to another channeler of the same gender who is weaving two 2nd level weaves and a channeler of the opposite gender who is weaving a 7th level weave can be felt by a channeler of the same gender up to 240 ft away without DC check and a Myrddraal up to slightly more then 1/4 of a mile away.) The person sensing the weave gets a general sense of direction, distance, and a sense of how much power is being used based upon that distance. Number of channelers weaving is not known as well as weaves being used.
